The Raybestos Girls All-Stars were organized by William S. Simpson, General Manager of the Raybestos Division. It was a company-sponsored team.

Bernie Kaplan was named the first manager of the team. The All-Stars were defeated in one of the most controversial games in Connecticut Amateur Softball Association history by the Norwalk, CT, Rosebuds by a score of 22-21 in the quarter-finals. From the fourth inning on, the game was played in a steady downpour.

The 1947 team was led by all-star pitcher Mary Primavera and Kitty Oslavsky.

Members of the first team to play under the Raybestos banner were: Annette Verespy, Midge Milowski, Primavera, Millie Elias, Oslavsky, Fran Pruzinski, Irene Keleman, Marge Wargo, Lorraine Meehan, Betty Smith, Joan Wallace, Tina Basso and Helen Yakubisin. Harold Schlacter was the team trainer.
