June 21, 2013 - The Stratford Brakettes exploded for 25 runs and 29 hits on Friday night in a doubleheader sweep of the New York Swag Black. Stratford took the first game 9-0 in five innings, before scoring 12 runs on 13 hits in the first inning of the nightcap en route to a 16-0 romp.

Steffi Call threw her first career perfect game in the late game, striking out eight while also hitting her sixth home run of the seaon.

Sam Greiner threw a two-hit shutout in the early contest to improve to 7-0 for the season. She struck out two and did not allow any walks.

Swag starting pitcher Chelsea Lisikatos worked a 1-2-3 first inning against the Brakettes, but would run into trouble in the second inning.

Steffi Call led off the second frame with a double, just one of her six hits on the evening.

After Elise Fortier reached on a fielder's choice, Mandie Fishback advanced both runners with a sacrifice. Becca Carden pitched in an RBI single to score Call for a 1-0 edge.

With the bases loaded, Jess Mouse grounded to third, where Gabby Luety fielded and threw home for the force out. Mouse reached on the fielder's choice, and the bases remained loaded for Mariel Schlaefer.

Schlaefer also grounded to the left side, and an errant throw caromed off Carden's back as the Swag tried for the force at third. Fishback and Carden both scored on the play, extending the margin to 3-0.

Kate Bowen delivered a double to left-center, scoring Mouse and pushing Schlaefer to third. After Schlaefer scored on a wild pitch, the score stood at 5-0.

Call offered up her second double to lead off the Brakettes' third. Fortier singled to advance the runner, but Fortier was forced out at second on a ground ball by Carden. Call stayed put on the play, giving the Brakettes runners at the corners. Mouse came through with a double for Stratford, scoring two runs for a 7-0 lead.

Bowen led off the fourth and picked up a base hit. She moved to second on a wild pitch, and went to third on a groundout by Denise Denis. Amber Radomski drove in Bowen with a single to secure the 8-0 lead. After heading to second on a passed ball, Radomski scored the final run when Fortier reached on an error.

Greiner allowed a single to Summer Horowitz in the top of the fifth, but got three outs to seal the victory. Horowitz also had the Swag's other hit, a third-inning double to right.

The Brakettes had a monumental first inning, as sixteen batters came to the plate.

The 12-run frame was highlighted by a two-run homer by Fortier, her fifth of the season. She also had a two-run triple in her second at-bat of the inning. Britt Lampert had a two-run single, while Denis had an RBI single and a double in the stanza.

Steffi Call had a pair of RBI singles in the marathon inning, while Bowen had two base hits, one of which drove in a run. Fishback also had a pair of hits and an RBI.

With a 12-0 lead, Call went about her business in the circle. She made quick work of the Swag lineup en route to her ninth win of the year.

The Brakettes added another run in second on an RBI single by Denis, which scored Lampert.

Fortier picked up her third hit of the game in the third inning, and scored on a grounder by Mouse to push the lead to 14-0.
