STRATFORD BRAKETTES SEASON TICKETS ARE ON SALE NOW

May 3, 2015- The Stratford Brakettes will open their 69th consecutive season of women's fastpitch softball on June 5th at Frank DeLuca Hall of Fame Field. The 2015 schedule has 25 home play dates in Stratford.

Season tickets prices have remained the same for the past six years. Anyone who purchases a season pass will receive special discounts on tickets for the 7th annual Women's Major Softball National Championship tournament August 6-9. Regular-season box seats are $100, reserved with back rests (behind home plate) are $80 and first and third base bleacher seats are $60. All subsequent tickets purchased are at half price. For additional information or to order season tickets contact the Stratford Brakettes at (203) 378-7262, or via e-mail, brakettes05@hotmail.com. Or use the order form found here. Walk-up prices on game day are $5 for bleacher seats, $6 for reserved, and $8 for box seats.

Manager John Stratton's club will feature many new players this season. However, the veteran pitching staff of Brandice Balschmiter (15-0) and Allyson Fournier (23-2) is back from last year's team that compiled a 50-4 record and captured its fifth straight National title and 33rd since 1947.

Leading the contingent of eight returning players is veteran outfielder Denise Denis, who became the Brakettes all-time home run leader last season, surpassing Pat Dufficy (91). Denis belted 16 home runs to give her 93 since 2005, while she won the team batting title at .488 and drove in 56 runs. Another top hitter back is catcher Elena Bowman, who is enjoying a big year at Manhattan College. Bowman hit .407 with seven home runs and 37 RBI.

The Brakettes have a 308-8 record in the past five years with records of 68-0, 68-3, 63-0, 57-1, and 50-4.

In addition to the National tournament, the Brakettes will host Team Canada, which is ranked third in the World behind the USA and Japan. They will be at DeLuca for a six-game series June 25-27. Also, the Brakettes will face the Bridgeport Bluefish minor league baseball team June 14 at the Ballpark at Harbor Yard. Tickets may be purchased for that game in advance from the Brakettes, as well as from the Bluefish.
