BRAKETTES 2020 SEASON TICKETS ON SALE; OPENING WEEKEND SET FOR JUNE 5-7
March 9 - Season tickets are on sale for the Stratford Brakettes, who open their season Friday, June 5 at Frank DeLuca Hall of Fame Field. The defending Women's Major Softball National Champions will play six games opening weekend, starting with a matchup against the second-year 18+ Junior Brakettes in a 7 p.m. doubleheader June 5. The Brakettes will play the CT Eliminators Women's team Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 4 p.m. in a pair of twin-bills.
The season pass is good for FREE admission to all Stratford Brakettes and Jr. Brakettes home games at DeLuca Field with the exception of the June 19 doubleheader against the USA Olympic Team, a total of 70-plus games. This is the Stratford Brakettes 74th consecutive season of women's major softball.
Veteran team manager John Stratton returns for his 27th consecutive season. He piloted the 37-time national champions to a 47-1 record last year. Ironically the only defeat came in the debut of the Junior Brakettes on opening night by 3-1.
Season tickets remain the same price for the tenth straight year. They are $100 for box seats, $80 for reserved with back rests (red section behind home plate), and $60 for first and third base bleachers. All subsequent tickets purchased are one-half price. Both teams are scheduled to play 50-plus games during the regular season before they participate in the 12th annual WMS tournament August 6-9
While Stratton returns a highly-skilled group of core players, led by standout pitchers Kaysee Talcik of Shelton, Raeanne Geffert of Seymour, and Ali DuBois of Torrington, and top hitters in UConn shortstop Briana Marcelino, second baseman Lauren Pitney of Ansonia, and center fielder Val Suto of Trumbull, several veteran players have retired. Stratton was able to fill the ranks by calling up eight players from last year's Junior Brakettes, who will be coached again by ex-Brakettes catcher Mary Sciglimpaglia Brainard.
Ticket forms are available here or by emailing brakettesgm@gmail.com. Contact Brakettes General Manager Bob Baird for additional information at (203) 218-1066.
