JUNIOR BRAKETTES TAKE TWO FROM TEAM CONNECTICUT
 July 3 - Jenna Geffert of Seymour and New Canaan's Gillian Kane turned in complete game pitching performances to lead the Junior Brakettes to a 5-1 and 12-3 sweep over Team Connecticut Thursday night at Frank DeLuca Hall of Fame Field.
Geffert allowed five hits and struck out five for the Junior Brakettes (3-4). Easton's Claire McCann hit her second home run of the season and Gabby Mazzotta drove in two runs.
In the nightcap, Kane struck out six batters and allowed five hits. West Haven's Kailey Carrano hit a two-run home run to lead the 12-hit attack. Dana Serrichio of Stamford, Lauren Rende, and Meg McFarland of Monroe all had two hits. Team Connecticut dropped to 4-4.
Friday at 7 p.m. the Junior Brakettes will face the Connecticut Eliminators 18+ in another DeLuca Field doubleheader.
