BRITTANY LAMPERT ENDS HER CAREER

Shelton’s Brittany Lampert announced her retirement from the Stratford Brakettes prior to the start of the season opener with the Junior Brakettes. It ended a seven-year career in which she played a key role as the Brakettes won five Women’s Major Softball National Championships in seven years. Britt’s playing time has been relegated to a part-time role in recent years because of her work commitments, usually just playing on weekends.

“We appreciate her efforts to keep the Brakettes on top of the softball world," said Brakettes General Manager Bob Baird. The graduate of Concordia, NY, College, finished with a .386 career batting average and she scored 190 runs. “Britt will always be part of the Stratford Brakettes family and we all wish her well,” added Baird.
