In posting a 43-9 record in 1954, the Brakettes captured both the National Girls' Softball League title and another New England Regional crown to earn a trip to the World Tournament in Orange, CA.
The Brakettes drew defending champion Betsy Ross Rockets of Fresno, CA, in their first game and suffered an 8-0 loss. Vancouver, BC, then eliminated Raybestos 2-1.
Mary Jane Hagan compiled a 13-3 record and tossed a no-hitter against the Caterpillar Dieselettes of Peoria, IL. She won two of four regional games with a no-hitter and a 2-hitter.
Maureen Galvin was a new member of the pitching staff.
