| Stratford Brakettes Manager John Stratton presents former Brakette Gladys Crespo with a special recognition award June 28th at Frank DeLuca Hall of Fame Field. Crespo played shortstop between 1965-70 and she has been actively involved promoting the game and assisting youth in the Greater Bridgeport area for the past 30 years. |

Nichole Carrafiello is the 2002 winner of the Stratford Brakettes scholarship, presented annually to a senior team member of the Stratford High School softball team. Presenting the award is SHS Principal Daniel Hatch while SHS Athletic Director and Stratford Brakettes General Manager Bob Baird is at left.
Carrafiello was a 4-year starter for the Lady Red Devils, who finished the season at 13-9. She played first base and received All South-West Conference honorable mention.
Previous scholarship recipients were: Heather Montanaro (1999), Joy Matthews (2000), and Leah Mingolello (2001).
