STRATFORD BRAKETTES HOST NEW YORK/NEW JERSEY COMETS JULY 17TH
July 4, 2013 - The Stratford Brakettes will host the New York/New Jersey Comets of the National Pro Fastpitch league on Wednesday, July 17th in a nine-inning game that will begin at 7 p.m. Since there is no rain date for the game, there will be no pre-sale of tickets until game day. However, fans may reserve box seats and reserve seats with back rests by calling our office at (203) 378-7262, or they may do so at any Brakettes home game before the contest. Box seats will be $10 and reserved with back rests are $8. They comprise the entire section behind home plate. Fans have until 5 p.m. on game day to pick them up before they go into the walk-up game day sale. Bleacher seats, first and third base sections, are $6. Game day sales will begin at 3 p.m. July 17 when the gates open. Stratford Brakettes season ticket holders are admitted free as it is part of their ticket package. No other passes will be honored that day. The Connecticut Brakettes played in the NPF in 2006 and finished runner-up in the regular season and again in the post season playoffs, bowing to the now defunct New England Riptide 2-0 in the finals. The Stratford Brakettes also competed in the amateur ranks that year and they won the National ASA championship in Buffalo, NY. The Brakettes have played numerous games against NPF since the league was founded 10 years ago. Last summer the Brakettes had a 168-game consecutive win streak snapped in a pair of 5-3 setbacks to the Akron Racers. Akron's top draft pick this year, and the No. 1 overall pick in the NPF draft, is pitcher Rachele Fico of LSU, who compiled a 94-1 overall record in four years with the Brakettes. Twenty-nine former Brakettes have participated in the women's professional league since it was founded. |
