Brakettes Season Tickets Now Are on Sale; 2022 Opening Weekend Slated for June 3-5
March 11 - Season tickets are now on sale for the Stratford Brakettes' 75th Anniversary season, which opens Friday, June 3 at Frank DeLuca Hall of Fame Field. The four-time defending Women's Major Softball National Champions will play six games opening weekend, starting with a doubleheader against the fourth-year 18+ Junior Brakettes at 7 p.m.
Manager John Stratton's Brakettes, who will feature many new faces this year, meet Diamond Zone of Branford Saturday, June 4 at 7 p.m. before closing the weekend Sunday at 5 p.m. in another twin-bill against the Junior Brakettes.
The season pass is good for FREE admission to all Stratford, Junior and Select (18U) Brakettes home games at DeLuca Field during the 2022 season, including the third annual Micki Stratton Round Robin on July 16-17. That event features six teams and offers a total of 12 games during the two days.
Veteran team manager John Stratton returns for his 29th consecutive season. He directed the 39-time national champion Brakettes to a 41-2 record last year.
For the 12th straight season, the price of season tickets will remain the same. They are $100 for box seats, $80 for reserved with back rests (red section behind home plate), and $60 for first and third base bleacher seats. All subsequent tickets purchased are at one-half price.
All three Brakettes teams will play 40-plus games during the regular season before they participate in the 14th annual Women's Major Softball National Championship tournament August 3-7 at Frank DeLuca Hall of Fame Field.
Stratton returns many highly skilled core players, but there will be at least eight new faces on the Stratford Brakettes due to retirements and college graduations with players anxious to begin their new careers. Leading the returnees will be ace pitchers Ali DuBois (15-0, 0.07 ERA) and Sarah Lawton (17-2, 0.68 ERA).
Five members of last year's Junior Brakettes have moved up to the Stratford Brakettes. They are Abby Ota of University of South Florida/Barlow High, Claire McCann of Holy Cross College/Barlow High, Aliya Catanzarita of Hofstra/Cheshire Academy, Meg McFarland of the University of Bridgeport/Masuk High, and Cassie Barbato of Radford University/Trumbull High. Three members of the Select 18U Brakettes also were promoted. They are infielders Mac Stone-Fulmer of Barry University/Notre Dame High and Lea White of UMass-Lowell/Maloney High and outfielder Sarah Rende of Binghamton University/Ardsley, NY, High.
