Stratford, CT 06615
If you sponsored a hole last year and did not take your sign, we have it and will use it again. Otherwise, fill out the form and return it no later than June 10th to have a new sign printed in time for display on June 24th.
Joan Joyce is widely considered the greatest women's softball pitcher in the history of the game, having played most of her career with the Raybestos Brakettes, from 1956-1963 and 1967-1975. She captured eight ASA national tournament MVP Awards and was named first-team All-America 15 times, while winning a total of 429 games.
Joyce was the head softball coach at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, while also serving as the Owls womens golf coach for most of her tenure there. After all, Joan played 19 years on the LPGA tour and still holds the record for fewest putts (17) in an LPGA round.
Joan Joyce passed away on March 26, 2022. Longtime Brakettes Manager John Stratton shared his thoughts after her passing
Joan will be remembered forever by the Brakettes as a legendary competitor and a loyal friend. She was simply the greatest.
