Brakettes' New Scoreboard Installed at DeLuca!
 Aug 28 - The Stratford Brakettes recently kicked off their capital improvement project at DeLuca Hall of Fame Field with the purchase of a new scoreboard. The 12-hour installation was completed at night on Tuesday, August 22nd, under the glow of the field's new LED stadium lights, which were debuted this season by the Town of Stratford.
The new 8' by 25' scoreboard comes with a five-year parts warranty from Northeast Scoreboards and showcases the logos of both of DeLuca's home teams, the Stratford Brakettes and Stratford High School Red Devils.
Over the last two seasons, the previous scoreboard's usefulness slowly faded away with each new failing bulb and corroded wire. Given the scoreboard was of an older generation, it made finding replacement parts near impossible and repairs way too costly.
In the spring of 2023, the Brakettes sought and received permission from the Town of Stratford to buy the new scoreboard for DeLuca. Three months later, both the Brakettes and Red Devils can celebrate the attractive new addition!
Total scoreboard costs were over $27,000, including the new 2' by 25' Frank DeLuca Hall of Fame Field sign (with Brakettes and Stratford High logos), plus delivery by freight and installation. The Brakettes have taken on all costs except the electrical integration, which will be handled by the Town of Stratford.
Fans wishing to help defray the costs can donate to the Stratford Brakettes' general fund. The Brakettes are a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, and all donations are tax deductible.
