The first Eastern team to win a World Championship, the Brakettes tied an all-time record by winning their third straight crown in 1960 at Raybestos Memorial Field. Once again they swept through six straight games with Bertha Ragan collecting four shutout wins to earn another Most Valuable Player selection and first team All-America.

Ragan beat Portland's Louise Mazzuca 2-0 in the finals thanks to Millie Dixon's clutch single in the first inning which drove in both runs against the Florists.

Raybestos also bested the Portland squad by a 2-0 score earlier in the meet. Other wins were against Birmingham, AL, 2-0; St. Paul, MN, 3-0; Kansas City, 1-0, and Orange, CA, 3-1.

Joan Joyce captured the other wins. She also compiled a 22-1 pitching record, the only setback to the World All-Stars. She also led the team with a .394 average.

Joyce (utility) and outfielder Ann DeLuca were also first-team All-Americas, while Mary Hartman was named on the second team.

Ragan extended her National tournament winning streak to 12, including 11 shutouts. She had 15 shutouts in an 18-2 overall mark. Rusty Abernethy, in her 11th year with the team, had a 14-4 pitching record and .260 batting norm.

The team had a final 54-7 record.
