Brakettes' Opening Day: All Youth League Players In Uniform To Be Admitted Free!!

May 14, 2007 - The Brakettes open their 2007 season on Saturday night, May 26th, at 7:00, during Memorial Day Weekend, with a double-header against the Quebec Rebelles. The squads will play again Sunday in a matinee double-header starting at 11 AM. All youth league softball players wearing their team's jersey will be admitted absolutely free for both Memorial Day Weekend double-headers! The Opening Weekend games and all Brakettes’ home games will be played at Frank DeLuca HOF Field in Stratford. Group Seating Reservations are available for interested leagues and teams.

The games mark the first time the Brakettes will be playing in May in over a decade. General Manager Bob Baird talked about the early season match-up. “We are very pleased to host one of Canada’s finest teams on Opening Day. The Rebelles have represented Canadian fastpitch well through the years, and we are planning a big softball celebration. We are excited to offer fans some quality competition during the Memorial Day weekend, and to kick off the summer softball season the right way”.

The Brakettes have already announced the roster commitments of 2006 NPF Connecticut Brakettes’ players Stephanie Hill, Denise Denis, Erica Sobel, and Leslie Malerich. Numerous members from last season’s ASA Women’s Major Fastpitch champion Stratford Brakettes, including veterans Robyn King and Jill Cimminello, will also compete for the team this summer.
