FIVE CONNECTICUT BRAKETTES GAMES SET FOR LIVE BROADCAST ON WICC 600 RADIO STARTING WITH SATURDAY VS. PHILADELPHIA
June 6, 2006 - The Connecticut Brakettes have announced that five of their 2006 womens professional softball games will be broadcast live on WICC 600 Radio. The schedule begins with this Saturdays National Pro Fastpitch league game in Allentown, PA, against the Philadelphia Force. Game time is 7:05 p.m. Were excited about being able to bring Connecticut Brakettes softball to our fans in the WICC listening area, said David O. Carpenter of Westport, the Chairman of the Brakettes Softball Organization. We are hoping we can increase that number later in the season. Handling the play-by-play duties will be Rob Baird, a recent graduate of the Connecticut School of Broadcasting. Baird also served an internship at WFAN Sports Radio in New York. Color commentary for the Philadelphia Force game will be provided by Philip Soto-Ortiz. Other games slated for WICC include: June 17, vs. the defending champion Akron Racers at Frank DeLuca Hall of Fame Field, 7:05 p.m.; July 1, vs. the Stratford Brakettes, the Connecticut Brakettes amateur sister team, at DeLuca Field, 6:05 p.m.; July 23, at Arizona Heat in Tucson, 10 p.m. (EST); and August 12, at Chicago Bandits in Lisle, IL, 8 p.m. (EST). In addition to the live WICC broadcasts, the Connecticut Brakettes are providing live audio webcasts for 56 games in 2006. The Brakettes are the only NPF team who are webcasting their entire schedule. The Brakettes Pre-Game show will start 30 minutes before each game and will feature special guests, interviews with the players and coaching staff and NPF news. To listen to the live audio webcasts, go to the ctbrakettes.com home page, and click on LIVE GAMETIME AUDIO WEBCAST. |
