National Pro Fastpitch to Broadcast Game of the Week
July 12, 2006 - Fans of National Pro Fastpitch can now tune in to their computer every week to listen to the NPF Game of the Week, a new internet radio show at www.profastpitch.com . The program is the result of a joint effort by NPF teams utilizing broadcast talent in local markets. The premiere game will be aired on Thursday night, July 13th between the Connecticut Brakettes and Texas Thunder, at 7:05 EST. Rob Baird, the radio voice of the Brakettes, will handle the initial broadcast duties. Baird has been instrumental in developing a webcast program for the Brakettes and now the NPF Game of the Week as well. His motivation is the success of the Brakettes program and the ability to work with the league to take advantage of broadcast opportunities both locally and nationally. In that respect, the NPF Game of the Week will fill a niche that will bring NPF action to a broader base of fans and enhance exposure for NPF teams and players. Broadcasts will include segments focusing on both teams, around the league updates, and post-game interviews with players and coaches. A different NPF game will be aired live every Thursday night until the end of the regular season with all seven league teams featured at least once. The featured game will be announced on a weekly basis in an effort to air key match-ups leading to the NPF Championships. You can link to the webcast every Thursday at www.profastpitch.com |
