While Rob Baird has been associated with the Brakettes going back to his days as a ball chaser at Raybestos Memorial Field, he officially joined the NPF Connecticut Brakettes in 2006 as their "on-air" voice. Rob has done play-by-play for the Stratford Brakettes games since the 2006 campaign, and will continue in that role this season.

Rob is a graduate of Stratford High School and the University of Bridgeport, where he played baseball and ran cross country. After teaching music for four years in Bridgeport, CT, Rob attended the Connecticut School of Broadcasting and served an internship at WFAN 660 AM in New York, working for numerous sports radio shows, including "Mike and the Mad Dog".

Rob served as a contributing writer and online commentator for the Softball competition in the 2008 Beijing Olympics for NBCOlympics.com, working remotely from their Stamford, CT offices. Rob also worked for The Dan Patrick Show, a national sports radio talk show based in Milford, CT, for 2 and 1/2 years, both writing and doing production work.

Rob also appeared on CPTV Sports as color commentator for the network's Brakettes broadcasts during the 2012 and 2013 seasons, and was the voice of University of Bridgeport basketball on WPKN 89.5 FM in Bridgeport from 2005-2014.

Rob and his wife Moira are the proud parents of 2-year old son Fraser, and daughter Ruby, born October 15, 2017.
