    Field Manager (33rd Year)

John Stratton begins his 33rd year as a member of the Brakettes softball family. Since 1995 John has served as the manager of the club and he has done a great job of rebuilding the team into a powerhouse in the amateur ranks. In 2006 John served as the manager of the Connecticut Brakettes of the National Pro Fastpitch league and he led them to a runner-up finish in both the regular season and the NPF Championship Series before returning to the Stratford Brakettes in 2007.

During his 15-year managerial career, Stratton has compiled a 798-103 record and he has coached them to five National Championships, one runner-up finish and five third place finishes.

A graduate of Stratford High School and the University of Bridgeport, Stratton is a retired physical education teacher in the New Canaan school system. John is one of the country's top pitching clinicians and he has been inducted into both the Connecticut ASA and Collegiate Halls of Fame, while his wife Micki (Rosemary) was the first Brakettes player inducted into the National ASA Hall of Fame in Oklahoma City.

John is enjoying his first year of retirement from his post as pitching coach at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton. At FAU, Stratton worked for Joan Joyce, the former Brakettes pitcher and National ASA Hall of Famer.

John's son Jay, a former minor league baseball player, managed the Stratford Brakettes to their 27th National ASA title in 2006. Jay, married to former Brakettes catcher Keri McCallum Stratton, is the assistant coach at Yale and a member of the 2010 Brakettes coaching staff. They have a daughter, McKenna.
