Stratford Brakettes Capture 2011 WMS Crown
Sunday, August 7, Game 20, Championship Game - The Stratford Brakettes put the finishing touches on a perfect season on Sunday, winning the 2011 Women's Major Softball National Championship with a 9-0 victory over the St. Louis Saints at DeLuca Field in Stratford. The Brakettes closed out the year with a 63-0 record, eclipsing the 57-0 mark of the 1971 Raybestos Brakettes, the only other undefeated team in the franchise's 65-year history. St. Louis Defeats New York to Gain WMS Final
Sunday, August 7, Game 19 - The St. Louis Saints staged yet another come-from-behind win at the 3rd Annual Women’s Major Softball National Championships on Sunday, eliminating the New York Raiders with an 8-3 win in the loser’s bracket final to reach their second straight WMS title game. The Raiders earned a spot in the contest by surviving a 1-0 decision over the NYC Havoc in the first game played on Sunday. The Saints dropped into the matchup after losing 8-0 to the Stratford Brakettes in Saturday night’s winner’s bracket final. (MORE)

Raiders Fend off Havoc to Advance to Loser’s Bracket Final
Sunday, August 7, Game 15 - The New York Raiders beat the New York City Havoc 1-0 in an elimination game in the 3rd Annual Women’s Major Softball National Championships at DeLuca Field on Sunday afternoon, knocking the 2009 WMS champions out of the tournament. The game was originally set to be played Saturday night at 9:00, but pouring rain moved into the area late in the winner’s bracket final between the Stratford Brakettes and St. Louis Saints. (MORE)

Brakettes Reach Title Game with Win over Saints
Saturday, August 6, Game 17 - The Stratford Brakettes clinched a berth in the Sunday's WMS Championship Game with an 8-0 victory over the St. Louis Saints in Saturday's winner's bracket final in Stratford, CT. Kristyn Sandberg belted two homers for the second straight game, while Stephanie Call added her 30th home run of the year. Brandice Balschmiter overpowered the Saints, striking out 11 batters to improve to 23-0 on the year. (MORE)
