Position: C/1B Bats: R Throws: R School: St. Joseph H.S./Fairfield Resides: Stamford, CT When Charlee Horton played six games for the Stratford Brakettes in 2019, she became the youngest player on the roster in 42 years. The last time a high school junior played for the Brakettes was in 1977 when Ellen Tomasiewicz, a three-sport star at Weston High, began her Raybestos Brakettes career. After posting a superlative junior season at St. Joseph High in Trumbull, Horton played for her Westchester, NY, travel team T.C. Futures before she committed to Fairfield University in mid-July. She filled in with the Stratford Brakettes when catchers Kaitlin Flood and Alexa Milius were playing for the Junior Brakettes. This year Horton will play a full slate for the Junior Brakettes, and she will get reps at first base and DH. Horton, a Stamford native, hit .466 with eight home runs, drove in 29 runs, and had a .891 slugging percentage for Jeff Babineau's Cadets, the state's No. 1 ranked team in the 2019 regular season. She earned first-team All-State and All-FCIAC. |
