Coming off her freshman season at University of Kentucky, Smith joins the Brakette pitching staff for the 2014 season. Smith saw 40.2 innings in the circle for the Wildcats this season as they made their amazing run to their first Women’s College World Series appearance in program history. In high school Shannon was named the Gatorade Massachusetts Player of the Year her sophomore, junior and senior seasons. Smith was also named ESPN’s Miss Softball for her junior and senior years as well as the 2013 Boston Globe All-Scholastic player of the year.
