Rachele Fico is the most celebrated high school softball player to join the Brakettes since Joan Joyce debuted in 1957. Connecticut's Gatorade Player of the Year as a junior and a senior, Fico led Masuk High School to State Championships. Fico was undefeated with an ERA of 0.00 with the Brakettes in 2009. In her freshman season at LSU, Fico led the Tiger’s pitching staff with a 20-7 record and an ERA of 1.15.
