Sara Plourde joins the Brakettes for her rookie season. As a sophomore in 2010, Sara led the Massachusetts pitching staff with a 40-8 record and an ERA of 1.30. Establishing herself as one of the nation’s most elite pitchers, Sara led the nation in strikeouts (556) and innings pitched (311.1), in addition to setting UMASS single-game strikeout records. Sara was named a 2010 Louisville Slugger/NFCA All-American.
