Brandice Balschmiter returns to the Brakettes full-time in 2011 after a short stint with the club at the end of the 2010 season. Following an impressive collegiate career at UMASS, where she is the all-time winningest pitcher (126 victories), Balschmiter was the 2009 first-round draft pick of the professional NPF Chicago Bandits. She pitched for the Bandits during the 2009 season, before returning to amateur ball in 2010. Brandice struck out 1,218 batters in her four years at UMASS, second all-time at the school. Brandice also was the Atlantic-10 Pitcher of the Year for all four seasons at UMASS. Named to the ASA All-America Team in the 2007 ASA Women’s Nationals, she also claimed the Bertha Tickey Award as the top pitcher in South Bend, IN in 2007. Brandice has a 57-7 career record with the Brakettes entering 2011.
