Rachele Fico has been a local softball phenom since her days at Masuk H.S. in Monroe, where she was a two-time Gatorade CT State Player of the Year. Rachele joined the Brakettes in 2008, but also continued to compete at the 18-Under level. Fico helped pitch her Gold Coast (FL) Hurricanes to the 2009 ASA 18-Under Gold National title. Fico went 33-0 and struck out 305 batters for the Brakettes in 2010, her first full season with the club. Rachele was named both the Most Outstanding Pitcher and MVP at the 2010 WMS Championship, while splitting the 2011 WMS Most Outstanding pitcher title with Brandice Balschmiter. Fico led LSU with a 20-7 record as a freshman in 2010 and went 14-10 in 2011. With a 20-13 junior campaign, Fico led the Tigers to the 2012 College World Series, where they finished fifth.
