Position: SS/IF Bats: R Throws: R College: St. Peter's University Resides: Norwalk, CT Katie Sciglimpaglia's first full year in a Stratford Brakettes uniform was a very productive one. She is an extremely versatile and valuable player. A shortstop by trade at Norwalk High School and now as the starter at St. Peter's University, she can play any infield position, including catcher, as well as a corner outfielder. Hitting .333 for the WMS champion Brakettes, Katie drove in 18 runs and showed flashes of power potential. In 2019 she was the shortstop for the Junior Brakettes and posted a .326 batting average with seven doubles and 20 RBI. An outstanding WMS tournament resulted in her All-America selection. Third in batting this season at St. Peter's with a .292 mark, she took over the starting shortstop job two games into her college career and has not relinquished it. At Norwalk High, the slick-fielding Sciglimpaglia led the Bears to a 14-7 record in 2018 and was named All-FCIAC and second team all-state.
