Gretchen Bunovsky is the consummate team player. She does all the little things extremely well and her contributions the past two years at Masuk High School were enormous. The starting left-fielder for the two-time South-West Conference champions, Gretchen played a key role as the Panthers captured the CIAC Class L title for the second year in a row, winning 54 of 55 games in that span. While she played errorless ball in the field, Bunovsky hit over .400 and led the team in sacrifice bunts and heads-up play. She will take her softball roadshow to Yale University in the fall. She recently won the Connecticut High School Coaches Association Sportsmanship Award, named in memory of former Brakettes infielder Danni Kemp.
