Gillian Birk is a welcome addition to the Brakettes lineup. The two-year starter for the Bantams is a solid hitter and accomplished fielder. This year she committed only four errors in 297 chances at first base. She hit .283 with one home run and 13 RBI. She was a three-year captain, team MVP, and all-conference selection at Staples High in Westport and she finished with a .390 career batting average. Previously she played for the Connecticut Seahawks, XTreme Chaos and CT Legends and she was a 'pick-up' player for the Lyons Spirit in last year's WMS championship.
