Lauren Pitney was the recipient of some hefty praise last year when John Stratton said, She (Lauren) is one of the best second basemen in our history. The Ansonia native, and recent Manhattan College graduate, enters her third season with the Brakettes, coming off a season of 11 home runs, 49 RBI, and a team-leading .489 batting average. Her 26 extra base hits ranked second on the team. The 2017 WMS All-America finished a gala career for the Lady Jaspers as she led the team in hitting at .410, home runs (10) and RBI (36). She was a standout player at St. Joseph High School, where she earned All-State laurels.
