Andrea Duran

Connecticut Brakettes fans are in for a treat when Andrea Duran arrives in town. The two-time First Team All-America led UCLA to the College World Series four straight years and she played on two National Championship teams. Voted the Pac-10’s Player of the Year, Duran can do it all. She can hit for average (.363) and power (15 doubles, seven triples and 15 home runs) and she can run, evidenced by 20 steals in 22 attempts. The slick-fielding third baseman also scored 60 runs and drove in 42 as Sue Enquist’s leadoff hitter. Her speed was crucial as she legged out an inside-the-park home run against Texas and College Player of the Year Cat Osterman in the CWS. Defensively, no one in college softball came close to her fielding ability.
