Sarah Pauly

Playing for the Stratford Brakettes in 2005, Sarah Pauly was the workhorse of the pitching staff as she compiled a 24-8 record with 315 strikeouts in 216 innings. Her earned run average was 0.84. She finished the season with consecutive 2-1 victories over NPF rivals, the New England Riptide on July 17 and the New York Juggernaut August 1. She also was the hard-luck loser in four one-run games against NPF teams. During her senior season at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Sarah posted a 37-7 record, a 0.56 ERA and 497 strikeouts in 288 innings. She earned Big South Conference Pitcher of the Year acclaim and the most valuable player award as her team captured the league tournament with a 4-0 record. Pauly pitched every inning in the tournament to lead her team to its third straight conference crown and NCAA tournament berth. Featuring a lively riseball and sharp curve, Pauly finished her career with the Islanders with a 112-46 record. Since the Islanders were only NCAA for three years, Pauly’s career strikeout total of 1,370 puts her in sixth place all-time. Had the 266 strikeouts as a freshmen counted it would have put her in No. 3 all-time with 1,636. At Desert Vista High School in Phoenix Pauly went 24-4 with a 0.23 ERA her senior year. She led her team to the regional title with 304 strikeouts and a first-team All-State selection.
