Denise Denis gives the Brakettes a speedy defensive outfielder and one who can hit, and hit with power. The left-handed Denis didn’t disappoint as she compiled a .328 batting average in 57 games in 2005. Last year she started in right field for the Connecticut Brakettes of the NPF. She also possesses a lot of offensive power with 15 doubles, four triples and six home runs that produced 37 runs in her rookie year with the team. She earned First-Team ASA All-America laurels with a superb national tournament. Denis came to the Brakettes after an outstanding collegiate career at the University of Massachusetts where she had an unbelievable 2005 season. A Saratoga Springs, NY, native, Denis was a first team All-ECAC pick for the Minutewomen who compiled a 37-16-1 record and gained a berth in the NCAA Austin Regional. While in high school, she was a four-year letter-winner for Saratoga Springs that won the sectional crown her senior year. Before joining the Brakettes, Denis played for the Adirondack Ice for four years.
