Sari-Jane Jenkins comes to the Brakettes with the highest recommendation from University of Oregon Coach Kathy Arendsen, a Brakettes National Hall of Fame pitching great. In her two years in Eugene, Jenkins has helped transform the Lady Ducks into a Pac-10 contender. This years team finished 44-19, the most wins in 18 years, and they gained an NCAA tournament berth. The fleet-footed Jenkins was second in batting with a .396 average on 82 hits in 207 at bats. She also scored 48 runs and drove in 27. She gives the Brakettes another offensive weapon on the base paths where she stole 38 bases in 44 attempts at Oregon. In her freshman year at Oregon, Jenkins started 51 of 52 games in center field and she led the team in hits (50), was second in runs (26) and ranked third in average (.298). At South Salem High School, Jenkins earned 11 letters in the sports of basketball, softball and volleyball. She was a four-time all-league selection in both softball and basketball. She gained first team all-state and Valley League MVP in 2005 as South Salem High won its league title.
