Despite being only 24 years old, Denise Denis is one of the veterans on the Brakettes. The speedy defensive outfielder is also a terror at the plate as she hits for average and with power. Now in her fourth year (she played one season for the NPF Connecticut Brakettes), the left-handed Denis has compiled a .382 career batting average with 45 extra base hits and 64 RBI. Last year she finished second in the batting chase with a .428 average. She was a First Team All-America in the 23-and-under national tournament. In 2006, Denise started in right field for the professional Connecticut Brakettes. She earned First-Team ASA All-America laurels with a superb national tournament in 2005. Denis came to the Brakettes after an outstanding collegiate career at the University of Massachusetts where she had an unbelievable senior season. A Saratoga Springs, NY, native, Denis was a first team All-ECAC pick for the Minutewomen who compiled a 37-16-1 record and gained a berth in the NCAA Austin Regional. While in high school, she was a four-year letter-winner for Saratoga Springs that won the sectional crown her senior year. Before joining the Brakettes, Denis played for the Adirondack Ice for four years.
