Jenna Lopez

#1
Position: OF
Bats: L
Throws: R
College: Florida Atlantic
Resides: Orangeburg, NY

Jenna Lopez was a member of the Puerto Rico National Team last summer that just missed qualifying for the China Olympics, losing to Venezuela in the finals. A graduate of Florida Atlantic University, where she started four years for the Owls, Lopez brings a solid left-handed bat and blazing speed to the Brakettes. She is expected to be one of the team’s starting outfielders. While she didn’t hit for a high average at FAU, Lopez came through with plenty of timely hits as she earned All Sun Conference laurels for two years. She enjoyed her finest year as a junior in 2006 when she hit .302 with 24 RBI and three home runs. She also led the club with 22 sacrifice bunts. Jenna came to FAU after an outstanding career at Tappan Zee High School, NY, where she was twice chosen All County and All Section. She was the first female athlete to have her uniform number retired. She also played soccer and basketball in high school.
