Bats: R
Throws: R
College: Massachusetts
Resides: Windham, NH

Now in her third year with the Stratford Brakettes, Whitney Mollica figures to play another important role as the club seeks its third straight ASA championship. She will play both first and third base for John Stratton. In two years, Whitney has compiled a .376 average with 67 RBI. She hit .440 in 2006, her rookie year, and led the team with 43 RBI and eight home runs. Bothered by injuries early last year she finished strong with a .317 average and solid defensive play. Mollica was a First Team ASA All-America in Buffalo in 2006, site of this year’s nationals. A three-year standout at the University of Massachusetts, which made it to the NCAA Regional Finals this year, she finished the season with a .329 average with six home runs and 32 RBI. Named NFCA All-Northeast Region second team, she has a .344 career batting average for the Minutewomen with 29 doubles, six triples, and 22 home runs in addition to 125 RBI. A four-year letter winner at Salem, NH, High School, Mollica batted .556 as a senior with 40 RBI. She, too, dabbled in pitching, compiling a 13-3 record in the circle. Salem High compiled an 81-9 record during Mollica’s career, which also saw her named First Team All-State three times. She also earned All-State acclaim for her high school field hockey team that garnered two state titles. The way her career is going, pretty soon former major league player/manager Don Zimmer will be known as Whitney Mollica’s grandfather instead of the other way around.
