Rachele Fico is the most celebrated high school softball player to join the Brakettes since Joan Joyce debuted in 1957. Connecticut's Gatorade Player of the Year as a junior, Fico led Masuk High School to the CIAC Class LL championship for the second straight year. She finished with a 27-0 record that featured 12 no-hitters and seven perfect games. Fico allowed only 21 hits and seven walks while she struck out 486 batters in 195 innings. She had 24 shutouts and finished with a 0.07 ERA. Batting from the left side of the plate, Fico hit .424 with three home runs and 21 RBI. She also led Masuk to the 2007 state title with a 26-1 record, and a semi-final round appearance as a freshman. She will take a 78-2 career record into her senior year in 2009. Fico has verbally committed to attend Louisiana State University.
