Laura Trout comes to the Stratford Brakettes with some pretty lofty recommendations from Spartanburg Methodist College Head Coach Rick Pauly and his daughter Sarah Pauley, the assistant coach and former Brakettes pitching star. While helping the Pioneers to a fifth place finish in the NJCAA Division I National tournament in Plant City, FL, Trout capped her season with a Second Team All-America selection. A magician with the glove at shortstop, Trout also boasts plenty of offensive muscle at the plate. She hit a team-high .492 for the Pioneers, who finished the year with a 34-11 overall record. She had eight doubles, nine triples and eight home runs with 33 RBI. Already being recruited by many of the nation’s top Division I teams, Trout enjoyed an outstanding scholastic career at Stratford High School in Summerville, SC.
