Position: 1B/OF Bats: R Throws: R College: Trinity Resides: Westport, CT Gillian Birk was elected captain of the Trinity College softball team for 2020. Unfortunately, the season was cancelled because of the virus the day before their opener. That's why she is so looking forward to her second year as the Stratford Brakettes starting first baseman. At Trinity, she hit .283 with 13 RBI in 2019. Gillian was a very pleasant surprise for Manager John Stratton last summer when she turned in a .340 batting average, 11 extra base hits and 26 RBI. Previously she played for the Connecticut Seahawks, XTreme Chaos, and CT Legends. The 5-foot-9 Birk is majoring in psychology at Trinity. The Westport, CT, resident is a graduate of Staples High where she was a three-year captain, team MVP, and an All-FCIAC performer with a .390 career batting average.
