Rebecca Johnson will be making her debut for the Stratford Brakettes this season after a standout 2019 campaign with the Junior Brakettes. The talented outfielder from Seymour High School earned a starting berth at Colgate University in 2019. She hit .268 (42-for-157) for the Red Raiders with seven outfield assists, starting in 51 of 52 games. Prior to Colgate, Johnson capped her 2018 senior year at Seymour when she led Connecticut with a .721 batting average and .782 on-base percentage. She holds the school record for hitting, stolen bases, and runs scored during her four-year career which concluded with a MaxPreps Second Team Small School All-America award. The fleet-afoot slapper led the Junior Brakettes in hitting (.400) and stolen bases while she was second in runs scored (28).
