Last year Kaitlyn Flood shared the catching duties on the Junior Brakettes with Alexa Milius. Now both of them have taken their talents to the Stratford Brakettes. Manager John Stratton knew Kaitlyn was a gamer the first time he saw her play. Possessing a lethal bat, with outstanding power to all fields, she also is an experienced receiver. Flood hit a robust .381 (37-for-97) with 10 extra base hits and 27 RBI for the Junior Brakettes. She and Milius will be playing on the corners, or as the DH, when not catching. Starting 11 of 12 games at Manhattan this spring, Flood hit .419 (13-for-31) with eight RBI. When called up to the Stratford Brakettes last year Kaitlyn responded with a .429 batting average, three home runs and 13 RBI. A two-time All-State player at Pomperaug High in Southbury, CT, she finished her scholastic career with a .439 batting average and is the school's all-time leader in hits (136) and RBI (113).
