Position: 2B Bats: R Throws: R College: Manhattan Resides: Ansonia, CT How could Manager John Stratton put a .524 hitter in the seventh spot of the batting order? The answer is easy. The lineup was loaded with talented hitters! Lauren Pitney was used in many spots in the lineup, but after Stratton penciled in his left-handed table-setters up first and followed with the heavy bats, Pitney ended up No. 7. It mattered little to Lauren, who had a career season for the WMS National champs. In addition to winning her second team batting title, she tied for second in home runs with 10, collected 21 extra base hits, drove in 31 runs and scored 27, despite playing only 35 games. Heading into her fourth year with the Brakettes, Pitney, a former St. Joseph, Trumbull, All-State second baseman, already is No.10 on the all-time home run standings. The Ansonia native graduated from Manhattan College in 2019 and she was a four-year starting infielder, the last three at second base. She earned WMS All-America status after last year's 46-1 season.
