Claire McCann was primed for a spectacular senior season for the Joel Barlow Falcons before COVID-19 put an end to it. The talented pitcher/first baseman begins her second season with the Junior Brakettes and she figures prominently in their expected success. Claire played only 15 games last summer, but managed to hit .405 (17-for-42) with four home runs and 18 RBI. Her powerful lefty bat produced a .438 batting average with 29 runs scored, 32 RBI and 32 hits in 2019 for the Falcons, who finished at 18-5 overall. Her three-year scholastic career totals are: .409 average, 16 home runs, and a .516 on-base percentage. Claire, a hard-throwing right-handed pitcher, went 12-5 with 150 strikeouts in 113 innings. Headed for The College of Holy Cross in Worcester, MA, Claire had a 2.05 career ERA with 355 K's.
