Gigi Speer was hoping to play a key role on the Fordham University softball team before the Coronavirus forced the season's cancellation after three games. Last summer Gigi played the second half of the Junior Brakettes season after spending a month studying abroad. The Italian Studies major, who resides in Bridgeport, had a stellar high school career at Hopkins School in Hamden, CT, where she earned All-League and All-Area acclaim during her 2018 senior season. She captained the volleyball, basketball, and softball teams at Hopkins.
